In a meeting last week Stephen Metcalfe, local MP for
South Basildon and East Thurrock, reiterated his support for Frost Estate
residents seeking to improve local road conditions.
The condition of the roads has long been a concern for
local residents who fear that they will continue to deteriorate if action is
not taken. Mr Metcalfe attended a meeting of the community steering group to
continue to discuss practical ways in which the roads can start to be made fit
for purpose.
The steering group consists of a group of local residents
who have volunteered to drive the process forward and represent the interests
of the Frost Estate. One of their key aims is to ensure residents are kept
informed of progress and they are in the process of producing a newsletter that
will be delivered to every household.
Mr Metcalfe later commented: “This was a very positive
meeting. The steering group are working together to find constructive solutions
to a problem that is affecting many people in the community.”
“Whilst I am in no position to impose a solution, I will
do all I can to work with the local community and with the steering group to
help them to achieve their aims.”
“I always welcome the opportunity to keep in touch with
local residents and I look forward to my continuing work with the steering
group.”
