Local MP Stephen Metcalfe has
today spoken about the recent achievements of Basildon Hospital staff and how
“immensely proud” he is of the good work being done there and the improvements
made for the benefit of local people.
Stephen’s comments came this
week after the Chief Executive of the Hospital, Clare Panniker, spoke to the
Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham to bring the achievements of her
staff to the attention of the Government.
Stephen said: “I am very
proud that Basildon Hospital has gone from being under special measures last
year, to having 7 out of 8 areas being rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by the
Care Quality Commission.
I was so pleased to hear the
Chief Executive of our local hospital bringing her story to the attention of my
colleagues at the Conference. It is only right that when a huge change occurs
such as this one, that the efforts of those involved are fully recognised”.
