Stephen Metcalfe, MP for
South Basildon and East Thurrock, recently visited the Laboratory art studio in
Wat Tyler Park to judge their annual children’s art competition.
This year children and young
people aged between 4 and 16 were encouraged to explore, experiment and create
artwork based on the theme ‘in the trees’. The local MP was then asked to judge
a special category on woodlands and wildlife.
Mr Metcalfe commented: “It
was fantastic to see what the young people of South Basildon and East Thurrock
came up with. The standard was, as always, extremely high and I would like to
congratulate everyone that took part.”
“I would also like to thank
the Laboratory for their ongoing work in the community and for making art
accessible for people of all ages.”
