Stephen Metcalfe, local MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock joined local residents to see the Christmas lights switched on in Basildon.
He commented: “It was
brilliant to see the Basildon Christmas Lights switched on. The turnout was
absolutely fantastic and there was a great atmosphere with people young and old
getting into the Christmas spirit. My thanks go to all those who have been
involved in organising the lights and I hope that everyone will enjoy them in
the run up to Christmas.”
